Tarot has always been seen from the third person point of view. The reader and client always standing on the outside of the images. The Inner Journey Tarot changes the game (Conceptualized by Angelo Nasios, painted by Jon Carraher.) ; it is a first person perspective deck. Enter the images and see through the eyes of the people who live in the cards.
Feel the fall from The Tower, shoot cupid’s arrow in the Lovers, ride the horse in The Sun and see Death stand before you. The Inner Journey Tarot will change how you experience Tarot.
The main source of the I.J.T is primarily Waite-Smith as you can see with The Tower, Sun and Death. However, the deck will not be limited to the W-S system, nor will it be a strict incarnation of W-S.
Elements from Waite-Smith, Thoth and Tarot de Marseilles will be blended together as can be seen in the Lovers and The Sun. Artistic liberty is also taken with changing the vision of some cards. For example, Death no longer is dressed in black armor, instead is glorified in gold and a helmet.
Pulling from three different traditions allows for an exciting product that combines the best of the best.
The Inner Journey Tarot is currently under production, the four cards presented here are the currently completed cards. More will be added as they are finalized.
The deck will be self-published.
